Tuition & scholarships, without the fine print

One flat monthly rate, no year-long contract — and because Math Mavericks is a Step Up for Students direct-pay provider, most Florida homeschool families pay tuition entirely with PEP scholarship funds.

What tuition includes

Everything your child needs, one monthly rate

Tuition covers the weekly 2-hour small-group session, the fully personalized curriculum, take-home enrichment, and all learning materials. Miss a class? You still get everything from that week — and can add optional 1-on-1 catch-up time with Mrs. Brooke for $30/hour.

Florida scholarships, explained

What is the PEP scholarship — and how does direct pay work?

Florida’s Personalized Education Program (PEP), administered by Step Up for Students, gives homeschooling families scholarship funds to spend on instruction, curriculum, and enrichment. Math Mavericks is an approved direct-pay provider — here’s what that means for you.

1

You enroll with us

Apply, accept your spot, and complete the enrollment paperwork — the same process every family follows.

2

Pay through your scholarship

Because we’re a direct-pay provider, tuition is paid straight from your Step Up for Students account. No paying out of pocket, no waiting on reimbursement.

3

Funds go further

PEP funds cover tuition, and our events (like Family Math Game Fest) also accept SUFS — so your scholarship stretches across the whole math year.

New to PEP? Families apply for the scholarship through Step Up for Students (sufs.org). Once approved, you’ll find approved providers — including Math Mavericks — inside your EMA account marketplace. Not sure what else your PEP funds cover? See our 2026–27 PEP purchasing guide for what you can buy, key deadlines, and what changed this year.

It means Step Up for Students pays us directly from your scholarship account. You never front the tuition and wait for reimbursement — the money goes from your EMA account to Math Mavericks.

Yes — PEP funds can pay for our Algebra 1 course the same way as any other class we offer.

If you miss a class, all learning materials from that week are still provided, and you can schedule optional 1-on-1 catch-up time for $30/hour. If we cancel (weather, unforeseen circumstances), the session is rescheduled to make up the time.
